Boston North Station, MA |
|
|
Boston's North Station is physically attached to the Fleet Center (formerly
Boston Garden). The station was once an impressive stone structure, but now
is an appendage to the home of the Celtics and the Bruins. If your train
happens to leave around the time of a big game, you may find yourself
wending your way through the waiting sports fans. Nevertheless, there are good commuter rail connections going north out of Beantown and it is the southern terminus of the Downeaster. North Station was the main station for the now nonexistent Boston & Maine Railroad. It has very few benches to sit on, large crowds during commuting time, two small food/coffee outlets and no newspapers. There is a separate ticket window for the Downeaster as well as a ticket machine.
